Tennessee trucking business files for bankruptcy

Family-owned Tucker Boyz Transportation of Tennessee filed for bankruptcy on Tuesday, according to a court filing.

The company is still in business and plans to reorganize through the Chapter 11 bankruptcy process, attorney John Dunlap said in an email to Trucking Dive.

Memphis-based Tucker Boyz reported $126,000 in assets and $152,000 in liabilities, including a $120,000 unsecured claim to truck parking business Henco Land.

The petition came just over a week after a $201,788.60 judgment against the carrier for a breach of contract with Henco Land over unpaid rent, according to a court filing.

The bankruptcy petition listed Arkansas-based Amor Bank as a creditor with secured claims for trucking equipment worth $99,000.

A Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Safety and Fitness Electronic Records database showed the businesses having as many as 22 power units and 20 drivers as of early May 2025.

The SAFER database also listed 15 out-of-service issues, representing an out-of-service rate of 75%.
