HIVE Digital Technologies’ Buzz HPC joins Bell and Cohere for Canadian AI factor

HIVE Digital Technologies Ltd (TSX:HIVE, NASDAQ:HIVE, FRA:YO0, BVC:HIVECO) subsidiary Buzz HPC earlier this week discussed its role in a newly announced Canadian sovereign AI infrastructure initiative involving Bell Canada, Cohere and Hypertec, with CEO Craig Tavares outlining how the partnership aims to create a fully domestic AI ecosystem capable of supporting enterprise, government and research applications across the country.

Speaking with Proactive, Tavares said the collaboration grew out of Bell Canada's Bell AI Fabric initiative, which was launched to bring together leading Canadian companies capable of delivering sovereign AI infrastructure. He explained that the addition of Cohere completed what he described as a fully Canadian AI stack, extending from data centres and networking through to AI models and compute infrastructure.

Tavares said Bell AI Fabric contributes data centre capacity, connectivity, professional services and cybersecurity, while Cohere provides enterprise-grade AI models and applications. Hypertec supplies and integrates Canadian-built AI hardware, creating an end-to-end platform designed to keep sensitive data within Canadian-operated systems.
