Bitcoin (BTC-USD) opened at $58,549.86 on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, down 2.6% from Tuesday's open. The price of bitcoin was $58,439.99 as of 8:27 a.m. ET this morning.

Ethereum (ETH-USD) opened at $1,569.74 on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, down 2.5% compared to Tuesday's opening price. Ethereum prices this morning shifted to $1,568.26 as of 8:27 a.m. ET.

It's been tough sledding for bitcoin and ethereum prices in June, and some believe the price trend will only get worse:

David Grider of Finality Capital Partners believes bitcoin hasn't seen a bottom yet.

"I don't think we bottom until September or October for bitcoin and most digital assets around it as well," Grider told Yahoo Finance on Tuesday.

"I don't think $40,000 or $45,000 would be unreasonable," he added.

But what's particularly interesting is that every time Bitcoin has a "red" June, it's followed by a "green" July. Might that happen again?
