Amaneos completes acquisition of Magna’s lighting business

Automotive parts supplier Amaneos, part of German private equity firm Mutares, has finalised its purchase of Canadian automotive supplier Magna's European automotive lighting operations.

The acquired unit will become part of Amaneos' subsidiary Light Mobility Solutions (LMS).

The deal completes an agreement first announced in April, when Mutares said it would acquire two supplier businesses from Magna to bolster Amaneos and HiLo Group.

Mutares said the purchase fits its strategy of backing structural growth across its portfolio companies, with an emphasis on expansion across the US and Europe, as well as pursuing significant exit opportunities.

The business being acquired posted revenue of roughly €200m ($227.9m) in 2025 and has a workforce of around 1,500.

Its product range spans rear, front and accent lighting, along with illuminated grille and panel systems built on LED, OLED, micro/mini-LED and matrix ADB technology.

The deal encompasses two manufacturing sites, located in Moncalieri, Italy, and Kostrzyn nad Odrą, Poland, as well as engineering hubs in Rivoli, Italy, and Ostrava, Czech Republic.
